What’s the process of installing solar panels?

1. Initial Survey: One of our engineers will attend to your property to inspect your roof and take a few measurements. We will use this opportunity to gain an understanding of your expectations and requirements for the system as well as your electricity usage. This will allow us to design a system that suits your needs and individual energy use.
2. Quotation: We will present you with a fixed price quotation that will detail all equipment to be installed as well as any details on the installation method that might be relevant. As well as your quote you will receive a very detailed Solar PV generation estimate and a return-on-investment calculation. Once you are happy with everything, we can book an installation date.
3. Structural Survey: On a standard-type modern roof, a full structural survey is not required our engineers will calculate the impact of the additional loading on your roof during the design phase. If during the initial visit, we identify any issues or irregularities with your roof we will need to carry out a full structural survey on the roof. This will be explained during the initial visit and the cost will be included in the quote.
4. Installation: Our installations typically take 2-5 days to complete, and all work is carried out by our in-house team with no sub-contractors used. Scaffolding will be put up a few days before the installation to access the roof. We start by installing the panels and then complete the system by installing your inverter and a battery if required. Our engineers will then test and commission your system. We will then demonstrate how everything works and provide you with any relevant information about the setup.
5. MCS registration: Once your installation is complete, we will register your system on the MCS database and provide you with a handover pack. This will include all the test certificates and commissioning documents required by MCS.
